YOUR PRINT & BUILD DESK

Start small.
Build with confidence.

The files and records for modules 17–35: practice your first print, identify the robot’s real parts, and keep a traceable build. Start with the tile before filling a plate with robot parts.

FIRST PRINTS / GUBI LABS TEACHING FILES

Two small prints.
A lot to learn.

01 / FIRST-LAYER TILE

A good place to begin.

30 × 20 × 3 mm

A plain solid tile to learn bed preparation, the first layer, cooling and removal. Check dimensions after cooling.

02 / CLEARANCE COUPON

Measure before committing.

Ø3.0Ø3.2Ø3.4Ø3.6Ø4.060 mm · 20 mm wide · 4 mm thick

Five holes reveal how your material and profile affect fit. The smallest hole is at the left in this diagram; mark that side. Do not force or heat a fastener through it.

These original teaching models have been checked for valid solids, dimensions and closed meshes. They have not been physically printed. They are not BDX-R structural parts. Import STL in millimeters and verify dimensions. Slice for your actual X2D, installed nozzle and chosen material; no G-code or production print profile is supplied.

THE ROBOT / PINNED PRIMARY SOURCES

Get to know the real assembly.

BDX-R V1 · master STEP

Kayden’s published CAD assembly, approximately 95 MB. Open a copy in FreeCAD and follow the inspection lab. STEP provides solids and placement, but it does not supply a verified print queue or a parametric design history.

What needs to be recorded before releasing a real part?
  • Compatible CAD, description and hardware revisions, including purchased actuator model.
  • Identified solid, correct units, measured mating geometry and expected loading.
  • Material and process: printed, machined, purchased or still unresolved.
  • Confirmed fastener specification, grip/thread depth, clearance and tightening evidence.
  • For a print: orientation, supports, profile, fit test and inspection result.
  • For powered assembly: verified pinouts, protection, joint map, limits and test procedure.

Unknown fields stay unresolved. Continue the software and practice-print labs while you gather the missing evidence.

WORKSHOP RECORDS

Give every experiment a home.

Test docking decisions on your computer.

The offline Python mock runs a nominal sequence and 12 fault cases. It has no hardware, network or charger connection. The states are a teaching foundation for your later docking project.

Names and hashes come from description revision 3a7fad94…. Categories below are an initial filename-based triage, not engineering approval. No quantity is inferred. Open the source to inspect a mesh; use the master STEP and release workbook to decide how the real component should be made.
